Ellen Fischer 's Bio:
Ellen holds an MFA from the Art Institute of Chicago. In addition to being an artist she has worked as an art museum curator, an art instructor and a writer about art. She is a resident of Vero Beach, Florida. Of her landscapes she writes, "My theme is the suburban environment. I paint on site, using only my own experience of a place to guide my brush. Often the scene is ordinary – a stretch of U.S. Highway 1, a scraggle of roadside foliage, a verdant suburban garden. Different places, different seasons, different times of day – the common thread in the paintings is the feeling that one knows these places and has always known them."
