Gary Borse’s solo exhibit of 28 paintings, “Revealing The Soul: Painting From The Inside Out”, was just shown this year in the State Capitol Building, in Tallahassee, FL.
Many of the paintings in the exhibit have won awards, including first place in acrylic painting in the book “The Best Artists and Artisans of Florida 2006". Appearing on many exhibit announcement postcards and event posters, Gary was commissioned by the Florida International Festival 2007, in Daytona Beach, to paint this year’s poster. His work appeared on the cover of Natural Awakenings Magazine in Gainesville and Tallahassee editions. He has participated in many invitational and solo exhibits, including plein air paintouts throughout Central Florida. He currently has an exhibit at the Florida Museum Of Natural History that runs through November 25, 2007.
He has created public art as well as taken part in fundraising activities such as the Florida Orchestra and Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, where he painted a violin this spring to raise money for the orchestra. A few other organizations he supports include The Conservation Trust of Florida, Altrussa House of Gainesville, The Marion Cultural Alliance in Ocala, and Marion County Humane Society, among others. He is represented by Fine Art Galleries, Art Dealers, Interior Designers, and Art Consultants throughout the Southeast United States.
He was born in Chicago in 1950 and has an Associates Degree in Commercial Art and Design from the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts. He is also an accomplished musician, performing rock, jazz and blues as a bassist and vocalist.
His studio and farm is in Fairfield, Florida, where he raises cattle and likes to ride his horses when he is not at the easel.
